About Us

Coffs Coast Waste Services (CCWS) is a regional partnership between Handybin Waste Services, Coffs Harbour City Council, Bellingen and Nambucca Shire Council for the collection of household waste on the Coffs Coast.

The three bin system used on the Coffs Coast region consists of a yellow lidded recycling bin, a green lidded organics bin and a red lidded mixed waste; or garbage bin.

Handybin Waste Services operate the Coffs Coast Resource Recovery Facility on Englands Road, Coffs Harbour. Facilities located on site are the Materials Recovery Facility for the processing of recyclables, Biomass Solutions Facility which processes organics and mixed waste, the Coffs Coast Glass Processing Facility which recovers and processes broken glass. The landfill site is owned and operated by Coffs Harbour City Council.

We all work together to ensure that we recover and recycle the maximum amount of recyclables and organics as possible, and in so doing, keep as much waste as possible from going to landfill.

It's important that we also work with our community (you!) to do as much as we can to preserve this beautiful area that we live in. Good waste management practices play a major role in sustainability and environmental conservation, and we can't do it without your help. By simply putting the right things in the right bin, you are contributing to carbon emissions savings, a better environment and a more sustainable future for us all!
