Kerbside Collection

From March 5, 2007, all residents of all three local government areas use three bins - green, yellow and red.

Collections days will stay the same for most areas, but the green bin will now be collected weekly, while the yellow and red bins are collected fortnightly on alternating weeks.

Important things to remember when placing your bins out for collection:

  • Place your bins at least 30 cm apart, with wheels facing your house (this allows the truck's arm to grab the bin easily, reducing the risk of spillage or damage to bins);
  • Bins should not weigh more than 60 kg;
  • Lids should be closed;
  • Don't place bins close to other objects such as trees, telephone poles or parked cars;
  • Bins should be placed out the night before your collection day.

Put the right thing in the right bin!
