What to do with Other Waste

Where do I put materials that cannot be placed in any of my bins?

Bulky Goods
This will be collected by CCWS from your kerbside twice per year. Details of the collection dates for your area are available on this website, under Bulky Goods Collection.

Hazardous Waste
Household quantities of hazardous waste such as pesticides, chemicals, motor oil and car batteries can be delivered free of charge to the Coffs Coast Resource Recovery Facility, Nambucca Waste Management Facility, or Raleigh and Dorrigo Waste Centres.

Mobile Phones
Contact the Mobile Phone Industry Program on 1300 730070 to arrange for collection, or call Clean Up Australia on 1800 282 329 for a reply-paid envelope to post the phone, or drop off your phone to one of the participating local Mobile Muster outlets (there is one at the reception of Coffs Harbour City Council's Administration Building).

Old or Unwanted Medicines
You can drop these off for free at most chemists.

Printer and Toner Cartridges
These can be dropped off for free at your local post office.

Syringe Disposal
Coffs Harbour has needle disposal bins located at:

  • England's Road Waste Management Facility
  • Park Avenue Lane behind Woolworths Carpark
  • Market Street carpark in Woolgoolga
  • Toormina Centro carpark.

Nambucca
Nambucca has sharp disposal containers located in 17 toilet blocks throughout the Shire, or return to the nearest public hospital or pharmacies.

Bellingen
A syringe disposal bin is located in Church Street, Bellingen (in the toilet block near the Court House).

Tyre Disposal
Return to tyre dealerships or to the Coffs Coast Resource Recovery Park for a fee.

Pre-Loved Goods

Goods that are no longer wanted, but are still usable, can be dropped off at:

Coffs Coast Resource Recovery Facility's second-hand goods trading centre operated by Aarvbee. This facility on Englands Road, Coffs Harbour, accepts some building materials, bric-a-brac and electrical items.

Bellingen Valley Aarvbee Recyclers, Shortcut Road, Raleigh, accepts items with a resale value, including furniture, some building materials, bric-a-brac and electrical goods.

Nambucca Waste Management Facility will accept items with a resale value, i.e. furniture and bric-a-brac etc.

Charity providers such as The Bargain Centre, Coffs Care, The Salvation Army, St Vincent de Paul, and others in Coffs Harbour, Toormina, Nambucca Heads.

Most centres will accept items with a resale value, including furniture, books, bedding, clothing, shoes, electrical goods, some building materials, cutlery, and bric a brac.

Phone the charity first to ensure the goods will be accepted.
