Coffs
Coast Waste Services
To
combat the amount of waste going to landfill, Coffs Harbour City Council,
Bellingen and Nambucca Shire Councils and Handybin Waste Services have
formed a regional partnership known as Coffs Coast Waste Services for
the collection of household waste.
This
website provides comprehensive information about Coffs Coast Waste Services:
Stage
1
Coffs
Coast Waste Services started operating in November 2005, when Stage 1
of its service was launched and nearly 100,000 wheelie bins were delivered
to 45,000 households across the Coffs Coast region.
Stage 2
Since
5 March 2007, when Stage 2 started, residents of all three local government
areas have three bins (green, yellow
and red) plus a kitchen organics
bin.
Read
more about the background of Coffs Coast Waste Services, about the Materials
Recovery Facility (where contents of the yellow bins go for recycling)
or about the Biomass Facility (where soil nutrients
are produced from contents of the green and red bins).
